Event aims to shed light on the plight of dogs in Asia

Supporting animal welfare is the goal of Four Pillars Productions

Toronto, ON, September 28, 2017 – Four Pillars Productions focus is to host fundraising events that support the four animal pillars: domestic, farm, wildlife and marine/sea. Our sole purpose is to raise funds and awareness through events and other projects that assist with the protection and care of animals.

On Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 12:30pm to 7:30pm at the Toronto Botanical Gardens, Four Pillars will be hosting Rescuing the Dogs of Asia, an event designed to shed light on the neglect and often-torturous conditions that dogs living in China, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and North and South Korea endure at the hands of humans.

“It’s important for us to raise the public’s consciousness of the relationship that people have with animals on a global scale, and that the animals under our care should be treated humanely and responsibly. We want to play a part in ending suffering and cruelty."

Co-hosted by actors Lisa Langlois and Sugith Varughese, Rescuing the Dogs of Asia will feature high-profile speakers including Marc Ching, Founder of Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation (Los Angeles, USA); Andrew Plumbly, Campaign Manager of Humane Society International/Canada (Montreal, QC); Shelley Craig, Founder of Victory For Animals (Brighton, ON); Camille Labchuk, Canada’s leading animal rights lawyer from Animal Justice (Ottawa); and Kevin Lahey who, along with director James Hyams, will be showing clips and speaking about their award winning documentary called Korean Dog, Meat Exposé.

Dogs from Asia are being rescued and adopted out to North American homes, so certified professional dog trainer Yvonne Ferguson, owner, lead trainer and behaviour consultant of Quinte Canine, will be on hand to provide practical tips on the rescue personality, and to offer advice on how to work with behavioural issues related to these special dogs.

Tickets are $120 + HST, and event guests will also enjoy vegan appetizers, a sweet table, a silent auction, and entertainment provided by Pop/Rock Icon Paris Black.

Toronto radio stations Classical 96.3 and Zoomer Radio (AM740), LUSH, Ren's Pets Depot and Green Shift ™ are proud supporters of this event.
